Weight Loss with Chinese Herbs

Chinese herbs can be used to influence the bodys metabolism in different ways. Most people who need to lose weight would like to have their metabolism run more efficiently. There are a number of herbs that can help people in their quest for a healthier, more efficient metabolism in order to ensure that any efforts to lose weight are blessed with success. There are three types of herbs that can assist people trying to lose weight. The first type of herb is the type that transforms phlegm in Chinese medicine terminology. These herbs can help the body to process fats more efficiently and prevent the accumulation of unhealthy fats and fluids in the body. Some herbs in this class that may assist weight loss include citrus aurantium, immature citrus peel, and magnolia bark. Glechoma and hawthorn berry can also help by transforming phlegm.

These uses can leave a person ultimately more fatigued and adrenal-depleted in the end. Citrus Aurantium is an infinitely safer option for those interested in weight loss.

Other herbs that can help boost metabolic function are herbs that increase the qi and yang energy of the body. This class of herbs includes ginseng, astragalus, and atractylodes. Other herbs in this category include ginger, cinnamon, epimedium and eucommia bark. These herbs can also give a person an energy boost. This can encourage the person to remain consistent with his or her exercise routine. These herbs also encourage healthy digestion and generally make a persons metabolism run faster and more efficiently. This group of herbs can be particularly helpful for those people whose weight tends to accumulate around the abdomen.

Detoxifying, bitter herbs are another class of herbs that can assist with weight loss. These herbs tend to reduce inflammatory, acidic conditions in the body that often trigger the cravings people have for inordinate quantities of unhealthy food. Fast fat loss is not only possible, but it's actually quite easy. I'm going to share with you a couple of techniques and tricks to help you get rid of fat once and for all.

Fast Fat Loss

1. Eat soup or salad before 2 of your meals everyday

Soups and salads act as "BLOCKING AGENTS" when it comes to weight loss. They fill you up so much that you're literally forced to eat less of your main meals. What's great about this way for losing fat is you are still allowed to eat your favorite foods.

I've learned through the years that if I deprive my clients of their favorite foods for any amount of time, their diet won't work. I can get them to change short term, but over the long term they won't adopt healthy habits.

So it's best to work "AROUND THE EDGES" of meals instead of the meals themselves. So eat a healthy salad or soup before your meals.

2. Change your snacks, not your meals

This goes along with tip #1. I'm not going to touch your meals. You're emotionally bonded to the types of meals you eat. I don't want to waste our time fighting over how to get you to eat healthier meals.

I've found that it's much easier to get my clients to eat healthier snacks. I'm going to give you a small sample of a wide range of healthy snacks that you can use that will give you a bunch of different tastes (it's important to change up the tastes). The snacks are apples, string cheese, 10 black olives, low calorie yogurts (80 or less), and a dill pickle with a slice of cheese wrapped around it.

As you see, this will give your taste buds the necessary variety in tastes that it craves. So switch up among them. If you were to follow just these 2 tips for a couple weeks, you'll create a fast fat loss.

Include Cardio in Your Weight Loss Routine

I recently read a study that showed positive affects of incorporating cardiovascular activity with your weight training and nutrition program. The study concluded that a short but vigorous cardio routine is optimally the best type of cardio routine to perform if you are looking to lose weight and get in shape.

According to the study your cardiovascular workout should last no longer than 20 minutes per session, with one session per day for three days per week on non successive days. For those of us that see time as a factor for lack of exercising you can see that this only takes up 60 minutes of your time in a given week. This is a small of time to invest to lose that weight and make yourself healthier.

This means that if you like to run, run a bit faster for 20 minutes for three days out of the week just so long as it is not on back to back days.

The study showed that those who were in the study group increased their weight loss as opposed to the group that performed a normal cardio routine.

What this all means is that there may not be a need any longer to perform long sessions of cardio everyday of the week. Instead break your cardio routine down into vigorous sessions where you give it everything you have for 20 minutes and do it just three days per week.

As always do not forget that before you begin any exercise routine you should seek out the advice or a professional. You should also get a complete physical from your doctor or primary care physician to make sure that your body can handle the exercise, nutrition and weight loss program that you are about to go through.
